  • Step #1 Understanding State Requirements

    Required Hours for Minnesota

    The State of Minnesota requires you complete an approved 90 clock hour Pre-Licensing course before applying for your Real Estate License.

    90 Hour Pre-License Course

    You may take the licensing exam after completing Course I. Course II and III must be completed before applying for a license.

  • Step #3 The Exam

    Schedule your Real Estate Exam

    Once you pass your 90 Hour Pre-License course you are ready to Schedule Your National and State Real Estate exam.

    Candidates may make a reservation by either visiting www.pearsonvue.com or calling Pearson VUE. p. (833) 273-1946

    Candidates should make a reservation online at least twenty- four (24) hours before the desired examination date.

  • Step #4 Pass State & National Exams

    Congratulations! This is a huge accomplishment.

    In order to pass the Minnesota real estate exam, you'll need a score of at least 75%. The passing grade for the national exam is 75 or higher. Passing the exam is much less stressful for anyone who has completed an Exam Prep course.

    Once you have passed the required state and national real estate sales-person exams move to step #5 - The Fun Part!

    Truth is that you can be interviewing brokerages while taking classes, you just can’t apply for licensing until you have passed the classes and tests. Not all brokerages are created equal, and they all bring something different to the table.

  • Step #6 Choosing Your Brokerage and Onboarding

    The Home Stretch

    Once you have chosen a brokerage, they will help you fill out your application to the state and “Onboard You” to the brokerage. This is where you will go over the Independent Contractor agreement and get the Policy and Guidelines, login codes, key fobs for building access, new business cards and more.

    Once your License is processed at the State Level, you can join the Local Board of Realtors - Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) or Saint Paul Area Association of Realtors (SPAAR) and our Multiple Listing Service Northstar MLS and get access to Lockboxes and Keys.
